South Orange- All-American Seton Hall guard Myles Powell left Saturday’s game against Stony Brook with an ankle injury. It occurred early in the first half and the Pirates struggled to get their bearing before regrouping in the second half to defeat Stony Brook 74-57.
While Powell looked to not be seriously hurt and walked off under his own power, Seton Hall Coach Kevin Willard said that Powell’s injury could be a “Prolonged Absence” in the press conference after the game. (Clip above)
Seton Hall’s next game is home against a top ranked Michigan State team that lost to Kentucky last week in the Champions Classic. Powell’s absence from the game would put a huge burden on his teammates to get a victory even with a sellout crowd expected at the Prudential Center. We will keep monitoring the situation and have up to the minute information as it comes about Powell’s status.
